今日は注文も入らず、とにかく一日中暇だった。仕方がないので、色々と勉強したりして時間を潰したよ。

Comment 107に気になることが書かれていた。

The problem is that Firefox chooses to use "the audio subsystem" to control volume rather than applying gain internally. Instead of scaling the samples in its output to the audio subsystem, like 99% of other applications with audio output, it outputs the raw sample stream (at least in terms of volume) and then uses the audio subsystem API to adjust volume. This is such a wacky idea, and it's the heart of the problem (or was, the last time I looked at it).

これが事実なら、Firefoxの設計に問題があるということだが…
